Do we need to have the original receipt notices.
I asked my attorney and he said that the copies would be fine.
He sent me scanned receipt notices via e-mail and says that it will
be fine and not ready to send the originals for some reason.
Can you guys think of any reason attorney not willing to give the original receipt notices?

Let me tell you--Because Senator Ensign is a HYPOCRITE! While adultery is not illegal in Nevada (its not, I checked), I would daresay that if Americans were asked this question--"Do you forgive Adulterous, Cheating Senators, OR Undocumented Immigrants seeking a better life for them and their familes," that resoundingly Americans would say--Dump the Senator and pass Immigration Reform. But wait, Americans are already saying that.
So, Senator Ensign, good for you, you did not break the law in Nevada by committing adultery and cheating on your wife. However, you have sacrificed the "moral high ground" you may have thought you once had. And while your wife is apparently is willing to forgive you, frankly, I doubt anyone else is. The bassist was reeeeealy close to a bright yellow-ish light everytime it came on (hit his arm and bass) it blew everything all to hell. Not quite sure how to compensate for something like that so I started taking shots when that one light turned off.
I was using a flash with a different band but from a distance. I wasn't too sure if it would bother them or not.

I had my EB2 PERM filed and approved with PD of May 2007. Filed 140 for this already. Just today came to know that there is a October 2002 EB3 labor available for substitution at my company and matches my profile so I can use it.
What do you guys say, I only have two days left to file labor substitution, but my lawyers can do it. I have to decide fast.

I think what they are saying is that after 150 days and no FBI clearance, then they are introducting an additional request and FBI will direct USCIS whether to approve the case even without clearance.
If all these communications back and forth happens in a timely manner then it may not be too bad.
Note:They are saying that most of the FBI name checks are being processed within 90 days.
Hopefully this is not going to be a major issue.

Kudos to Senator Chuck Schumer for raising the profile of a serious issue - discrimination against same-sex partners in US immigration law. Even as several states are enacting marriage equality laws and anti-discrimination laws are moving forward around the US (including here in my home town of Memphis), the antiquated Defense of Marriage Act prevents USCIS from treating these families fairly. The UAFA would be a huge step forward. The Senate will have its first hearing on the bill tomorrow. A great tip from AILA to share with our readers regarding the H1B visa. It seems that H-1B petitions (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) for Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) and similar related occupations are being closely monitored to ensure that accurate job duties are being identified to confirm CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) certification requirements.
There are multiple progressive occupations within the Speech Language Pathology career field including, Teachers of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH), Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLC), Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) and Clinical Fellows (CFY), and Speech Language Pathologists (SLP).
While all of these positions require a state license, only SLPs who are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) may provide direct patient care without supervision, and thus, only certified SLPs require CGFNS certification.
According to CGFNS, the other related occupations (TSHH, TSSLC, SLPA, and CFY, all of which require a minimum of a bachelor's degree, a license, and direct supervision by a licensed SLP) do not provide independent patient care and must be supervised by a licensed SLP and, therefore, are not eligible for CGFNS certification.

We know we have our largest membership in CA. Well over a hundred members. Yet there are only about 10 active members. And yes, these 10 are extraordinarily dynamic, but we need more. In particular we need more members in SoCal.
Those of you who have already signed up as volunteers -- please attend the weekly call this Thursday at 9pm PST. Once you are on the call, please speak up, take the initiative and work on something.
Respond to the weekly emails.
- Convince at least one more person to become a member
- Convince at least one more person to contribute
- Post our flyers in your neighborhood or workplace
- Come up with other ways to get the word out
- Join a lawmaker team
- Start a lawmaker team and make an appointment
IV cannot run without your help and fervour.

Hi,
I have an EB2 that is pending with BEC. Everytime, I ask my employer for some kind of an application number that I can use to check the status online - they deny and instead provide me with the status themselves. Is there any other way to get the status of the LC?

USCIS site has been having some trouble for the past couple of months. The reciept numbers are all valid but are not displaying any status in the system. I had the same challenge with one of my applications. So when I called the rep could also not find the status online, but then they connected me to another rep who could check all my status and confirmed that the application was in the system and even notified me of the status.
Since only the petionter can make an inquiry in the status of an H1-B application, pls work with your HR to call the USCIS and get the information. You will be fine , don't worry.

There are still some new members who keep posting that the bill S 1348 looks very good and it has SKIL provisions etc, because they get pointed to the last year's bill.
If you go on thomas.loc.gov and find bill text for S. 1348 you see a bill that is a copy-paste version of LAST YEAR'S SENATE BILL S. 2611.
That text is last years text that was initially put in place as a place-holder BEFORE the grand compromise was reached.
After the grand bargin (compromise/coalition) was reached, the text of the grand compromise replaced the entire text of last year's bill (that has SKIL) was the next text.
Amendment # 1150 (S.A. 1150) Sponsored by Sen. Kennedy is a 400 page amendment that replaces the entire text that was intially in the bill with the new text. Its a "Substitute" amendment.
Read the S. A. 1150 text. Its also on IV homepage as PDF. That is the bill now. Here is the link to that

Does anyone know if there would be some kind of record about
when and how many times we have spoken to the IIO.
Like will a IIO be able to look at one's receipt# and say if they have spoken to an IIO earlier that day or whenever that is?
