The House floor failed to pass this bill and postponed until the undetermined date for final action."
This bills is to renew Conrad 30 program which is set to expire June 2008. This bill is sponsored by Zoe Lofgren and has been posponed until the undetermined date!
This is a vital provision for J1 physicians for waiver opportunities but I have not found much on this on the internet besides above quote from Oh law firm.

I am in the US now. Can I change to F1 visa in August and get the new F1 stamping or the approved transfer as you said, when I visit my home country later some ?

My understanding is that F1 visa status is maintained by I-20 and corresponding I-94 (which would usually say D/S and therefore would be valid as long as your I-20 and student-in-good-standing status are valid), for which you need to go outside US and reenter.

yes! thats what ac21 is for...
in my case, i talked to a lawyer before i did ac21. i will also talk to lawyer again if i change jobs again.

It is sad to see nobody coming forward for help. It is everybody's fight. When someone takes initiative we should all help. There is nothing to fear while meeting lawmakers.
All members in Georgia, please contact brij523 by sending him PMs and help him with chapter tasks. It is important that we all participate in our own state chapters.

Need some help/advice on PERM LC issue:
My employer has filed PERM LC (PD Sep 2008) in EB2 (Job Description: Masters or Bachelors with 5 Yrs experience),
On may'09 got a query saying "Discrepency in Alien education and experience".
Stating: Alien workerer possessed Masters Degree and 16 months of experience where as the minimum job requirements set ETA form (H8 and H10)specified Masters and 5 yrs of experice.
my emplyer appealed saying: " H.4 in ETA does indicate masters deg. is the minimum requirement for the position and there is however no mention made of 5 yrs of exp. this appears in 8.A and 8.C as an alternate education and experience and therefore not related to the minimum requiremnt for the position"
my question: 1) Can this be considered as an error from the procesing center rather than my empr fault.
2) How severe this would be and what ud be the turn-over-time.
3) Do I need to reapply my PERM LC again.

How long does it take to get a new SSN issued? Any one applied recently?
I applied it on a Monday and visited the office again on Tuesday and got the number. The card came in mail in 7 days. State is MA.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this thread.
Does 1 require a UK Visa if they are travelling on British Airways? As i have my parents travelling from India to USA on British Airways(they have Multiple B1/B2 US Visa)..
Spoke to BA &they advised me to speak to UK Consulate.:(
Any info be helpful.

You need a UK Transit Visa only if you don't have a valid USA VISA stamped in the passport.
My Parents always use BA, and they never take a UK transit visa.
But if i use BA to visit India, in the near future i would be taking a transit visa, as my H1 Visa on the passport has expired (Using H1 Extension Approval right now)

I am a derived applicant in my green card process and recently I converted to EAD status from H1B.
My sister is US citizen. I would like to know if I am eligible to file another set of green card application thru family based option that is available. I know its a long queue.
I want to know if I am eligible for this process.
If I am eligible to file, am I eligible to file EAD thru that application as well.

I have a question. Our files are stuck in the Chicago local office (after our interview last year) and the only thing pending is the Namecheck, which has been pending for more than 180 days. Our PD is current. Is anyone in the same position?
It is frustrating because you do not get any LUDs when your files are in the local office and I have no indication whether the Chicago officeis processing cases with NC pending > 180 days. Anyone knows?

Hi! I'm H1B holder and my company is willing to sponsor the green card. I'm coming from Eastern Europe (Moldova) and in US am working as software developer, I guess it's EB-3, right? I graduated in Romania Bachelor Degree in Mathematics & Computer Science (4 years) and Master Degree in Computer Science & Engineering (2 years). My work experience is more than 7 years. Please advice how to proceed to get this process done properly, legally and fast, reasonably possible and how much time it would probably take. Thanks in advance!
You should try for EB2. Make sure the Labor requirement is filed accordingly. Any way as you are coming under ROW, its not going to make much difference.
